Overview
We are looking to recruit a Manager to take over our home in Chorlton, Manchester. To be considered for the role, candidates must have relevant experience within Residential childcare and either already be within a Home's Manager role or be an experienced Deputy Manager, wanting to take the next step in their career.
Overview Of Duties
- Overseeing and auditing of day-to-day paperwork systems within the home.- Implementation of new systems to support the needs of the young people within the home and support team to understand/ complete these.
- Attend/ represent the home at relevant meetings for the young people, then taking and producing meeting minutes.
- Be a voice for our children and ensure that their views, wishes and feelings are documented throughout our systems within the home and shared where required.
- Ensure that the young people have access to a wide range of activities within the local area and further, in line with their interests and hobbies.
- Promote that the staff make strong and positive relationships with the young people, this supports safeguarding within our home.
Leadership And Management/ Other Expectations
- Be an effective decision maker when faced with difficult and unexpected situations and lead a team to also be able to do this.
- Manage a safe environment for the young people and staff, ensuring that any health and safety tasks or alike are completed.
- Supervision and appraisal of staff.
- Support staff probationary period documentation and development plans.
- Lead team meetings/ senior meetings.
- Attend required training and development offered by the Responsible individual.
- Confidentiality is maintained within the home and code of conduct is adhered to.
- To share the on-call system
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ 3- Level 3 Diploma (QCF) qualified in Children and Young People’s workforce (or equivalent)- Level 5 diploma in leadership & management in residential childcare- England (or equivalent). If not already completed, must be willing to complete.
- Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
- Worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
