Our service user is a cheerful and content gentleman in his 30s who resides in a nursing home based in Ashton-Under-Lyne and requires support on a 1:1 basis throughout the night to support his complex care needs.
He is a very charismatic gentleman who loves to spend time with his family and care team, he enjoys the interaction, and loves having a banter.
He enjoys watching his favourite T.V programmes along with animated DVDS, and throughout the day he loves to access the community, going shopping and simply being out and about.
Main duties of the job
Throughout the night you will provide support with his personal care, repositioning, making close observations and attending to his clinical care needs when required. Should he awake, you will offer reassurance to promote a restful environment for our service user.
He is unable to communicate verbally and will use facial expressions and sounds to make his wants and needs known. To avoid him becoming distressed of frustrated, you will spend time to get to know his unique signals and cues.
Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.
We have the following shifts available;
- Full Time Days 3-4 shifts per week & Part Time Nights available 2 shifts per week
- 7:00am - 7:00pm
- 7:00pm - 7:00am
- Alternate weekends are needed for this position

- Weekdays: £13.00 per hour (Approx. £156 per 12-hour shift)
- Weeknights: £13.50 per hour (Approx. £162 per 12-hour shift)
- Weekends: £14.00 per hour (Approx. £168 per 12-hour shift)
- Bank Holiday: £17.00ph (Approx. £204 per 12-hour shift)

Job responsibilities
The role of a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is to work without direct supervision in the home of the service user providing care and support including personal, social, and domestic support whilst adhering to the service users individual care and support plan.
The aim of the position is to enable service users to remain safely in their own home with as much independence as possible.
