Deputy Care Home Manager - Lorimer House

- 37.5 hours per week, which includes 10 hours supernumerary. Shift pattern is 8am to 4pm or 12pm to 8pm including alternative weekends.

Qualifications Required:
The Deputy Manager must be a registered Nurse and have an active NMC Pin. A Registered Managers Award or an SVQ4 in Care and/or Management would be an advantage. Applicants should have at least two years' experience at Charge Nurse level or above
Role & Responsibilities
- Being responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of holistic person centred care.
- Responsible for maintaining and monitoring high quality clinical care for our residents.
- Expected to supervise junior staff and be able to teach qualified and unqualified staff.
- Required to take responsibility as the lead care provider for the Home, and work with minimal supervision in the assessment of all relevant care needs.
- Supervise / promote and deliver high standards of person centred care for all resiidents.
- Assist the home manager - deputise in the overall management of the care home as required.
- Promote business values in day to day practice.
- Positively influence the reputation of the home - communicating professionally and warmly with visitors including family, friends and other external stakeholders.
- Play an active role in ensuring compliance within the home - managing the implementation of company policies and regulatory requirements; striving to achieve the best possible care rating and other external recognition of quality.
- Maintain clinical excellence - role models high standards of care, ensuring legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines are followed.
- Take on an active leadership role - you will need to be a visible leader in the home supporting the operation of a twenty four hour Care Home
- Developing our staff - oversee the induction of all new employees and participate in the training development of the team.
- Assisting with employee appraisals, supervisions and career pathways.
- People management - play an active part in the recruitment, assessment and supervision of the team. Support the manager in all aspects of employee relations.
