Your main responsibilities will be:
- Supporting clients within their own homes
- Ensuring clients are actively involved in activities within their own home or within their community
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with clients and their families
- To offer choice and control in all areas of the client’s life
- Meeting the individual’s daily needs and requirements in a kind, compassionate and patient manner
- To assist clients with personal care where required which may involve assistance with; continence requirements (bathing and showering) and use of hoists (training provided)
- Preparation of meals and drinks and the prompting of medication
- Attending GP and Hospital appointments
- Listening and talking to all clients
- Ensuring the health and safety of all clients
- To maintain records (e.g. care plans) where necessary, ensuring these are wholly accurate, up to date and completed in a timely manner
- Understand each client’s care hours within their home, and ensure you are supporting clients to reflect their care and support needs accordingly
- Participate in mandatory staff meetings
- To ensure confidentiality is always maintained, in keeping with the Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998 – ensuring that clients personal details are not disclosed to any unauthorised person and all records are maintained within the DPA 1998 requirements

- To be reliable and someone our clients can depend on
- To be able to build and nurture good relationships with all of our clients
- To enjoy spending time with our clients so that they feel valued and not lonely
- To show our clients compassion and empathy
- To work with our clients on daily tasks instead of taking over to speed things up
- Respect them whilst working in their home
- To be someone who will put our clients first and listen to their choices
- A high level of communication skills (written and verbal)
- A driving License and vehicle (this would be advantageous)

- Pay per hour is £12.25 weekday. £12.75ph at weekend. 45p per mile and travel time paid at £11.44 ph.
