If so we’d love to hear from you. This is an opportunity for a HCSW to develop clinically, personally and professionally in an autonomous and motivated environment. We will provide a 2 week supernumerary period and comprehensive training package, supported by our Educational facilitators. We are a friendly supportive, and well established team that provides expert cancer treatment and much needed continuity of care and support to patients.
Within Ambulatory Care we care for and deliver treatment to patients with haematological disorders who are at all stages of their cancer journey, this includes patients who are undergoing bone marrow transplantation and CAR-T Cell Therapy. We are a fast paced innovative new service that promotes independence for patients.
Ambulatory Care enables patients to receive the same life saving treatment that the inpatient setting offers but in a more relaxed setting that enables the patient to return home at the end of the day to their families. This innovative approach enables patients to maintain independence and normality during such a challenging time in their lives.
This role also comes with the opportunity to experience working between alternative areas within the directorate when required, with the main focus remaining in Ambulatory Care unit.
The post holder will develop professionally and personally within Ambulatory care, with the vast skills and knowledge they will obtain during this career.
The main clinical duties included in this role are:
Venepuncture and Cannulation
Dressing changes
Basic patient monitoring
Direct supportive patient care
Blood glucose monitoring
Urinalysis testing
Pregnancy testing
Administrative duties:
Stock management
Patient accommodation booking
Patient transport booking
Patient notes management
Undertaking audits
