Deputy Home Manager - Burford
Salary: Up to £53,309
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week (may include weekends when needed)
A dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) is sought for the position of Deputy Home Manager in Burford. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will support the Home Manager in delivering high-quality care and managing the daily operations of the home. The position primarily involves supernumerary responsibilities, with floor shifts when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the home maintains a happy atmosphere by exercising professional leadership and coordinating the work of all staff grades, creating a climate of well-being, security, and efficiency.
- Support residents in living as full and active a life as their physical and mental capacity allows, promoting self-confidence and encouraging physical, intellectual, and social activities.
- Work within the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct and ensure that all Registered Nurses (RNs) do the same.
- Monitor standards of care by ensuring effective audits, supervision, and communication.
- Communicate effectively with residents’ relatives, keeping them informed of any changes in residents’ conditions.
- Ensure safe custody, administration, and disposal of drugs in accordance with the NMC’s guidelines, including conducting audits.
- Organize the admission, discharge, or transfer of residents and ensure the safe custody of residents’ property.
- Train staff in the correct use of equipment and maintain in-service training for all staff on key topics such as infection control and health and safety.
- Establish and monitor duty rotas and annual leave for the home within budget constraints to ensure optimal use of nursing and care staff.
Essential Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN); non-clinical applicants will not be considered.
