What is the role of a kitchen assistant in a care home?
Undertake general cleaning of all areas within the kitchen and food preparation areas, dry goods store and dining room including the washing of pots/pans and sink duties. Clean thoroughly areas such as windows, ledges, shelves etc. Assist in the preparation of food. Assist in the service of all meals and snacks.
In general, working in a care home kitchen means being part of a small team preparing and serving meals to the residents of the home. You need to be aware of good nutrition and be able to cater for special dietary requirements, which are more common among the older community.
Requirements:
- Needs 12+months experience as Kitchen Assistant
- Have some experience working in a catering environment
- Happy to work with an agency
Shifts: 9:00AM - 4.30PM (Monday to Sunday) OR
1PM - 10PM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Pay: £11.58 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 37.5 per week
