About The Opportunity
As a Housekeeping / Laundry Attendant, you will be responsible for:
- To support the Life Enriching Activity Lead/Life Enriching Activity Coordinators in the implementation of a whole home approach to the provision of meaningful occupation for all residents, taking a proactive attitude towards the engagement of all residents at all times
- To take responsibility for the completion of all daily housekeeping schedules
- To ensure all rooms and communal areas are clean, tidy, prepared, and presented to the highest standards set out by the departmental SOPs
- To ensure trollies are restocked at the end of each shift and all cleaning equipment is stored in a tidy manner
- To deliver clean towels to the allocated room and to help keep clean and tidy all linen rooms and trollies
- To be responsible for the day-to-day management of laundry room whilst ensuring all uniforms and laundry supplies are cleaned to the highest standards
- To ensure compliance with instructions issued by the Head Housekeeper regarding the use of laundry equipment, materials and chemicals
- To ensure all laundry related queries are answered promptly and in a professional manner
- To undertake all laundry duties to the highest possible standard
- To ensure resident satisfaction where possible and report any complaints to the Head Housekeeper immediately
- To ensure that all residents and their family members feel at home in a comfortable, cared for, well maintained and impeccable environment
- To practice the correct use and care of all items of equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, trolleys, carpet cleaners and steam cleaners
- To report any malfunction of equipment immediately
- To ensure correct use of all cleaning agents on all surfaces as directed
- To report any damage, wear and tear or maintenance issues arising in any of your working areas to the Manager
- To ensure that accidents or incidents are reported to the Hospitality Manager
- To comply with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
- To ensure residents rooms are presented to KYN's standards whilst respecting our resident's wishes
- To complete the opening/closing checklists on a daily basis
- To utilise the resources within the department effectively
- To collect and sort soiled and fouled linen into correct categories
- To operate all laundry equipment safely
- To ensure all items are laundered, checking the labels for correct washing and ironing instructions
- To ensure all personal clothing items are clearly marked with the resident's name, and if not, re-mark before returning to the resident's room
- To sort and return laundered items to residents' rooms or appropriate linen cupboards
- To make certain that the laundry equipment and laundry area is clean
- To replenish auto dosing detergents and additives
- To contribute towards the induction and training of new team members
- To be responsible for the health and safety of self, other team members, residents and visitors under the Health and Safety and infection control regulations
- To report any hazards or potential hazards to the person in charge or take other appropriate action within the remit of your training and knowledge
- To attend all statutory training sessions making certain that practices reflect the learning outcomes of the training
- To always respond in a polite and professional manner to the residents and never enter a resident's room without knocking
- To ensure residents are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
- To comply with KYN's dress code whilst on duty
- To adhere to all KYN's policies and procedures
About You
- You will have experience in a similar role
- You will be a professional, who has a proven track record of delivering and maintaining standards at the highest level
- You will have strong communication skills, a corporative and politely manner, and an eye for detail
- You will have the ability to work under pressure, flexible and consistently
