Job Title: Team Leader
We are looking for a Senior / Team Leader to join our established team. Park View is a 21 bed residential home specialising in Mental Health conditions.
The position is for 35 hours and you must be flexible to work a mixture of morning shifts starting at 7.30am and afternoon shifts finishing at 9pm, it is also a requirement that you work every other weekend.
Experience in care is essential and experience of Team Leading / Senior is an advantage.
Role Description:
· Assisting the Management with the running of the Service. Providing the highest possible standard of care to all Residents.
· Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all residents using our service
· Maintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for our residents to live in, which may involve undertaking some domestic duties and complying with policies and procedures
· Assist residents with their medical and welfare and personal care needs and report as required
· Supporting people with all aspects of personal care where required but always promoting as much independence as possible. Personal care may include: washing/bathing, dressing, continence care, using the toilet
· Safeguard residents
· Learn about residents’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way, promoting independence
· Follow and learn specific behavioural support techniques
Duties:
1. To support the Management to deal with Resident enquiries, new Residents and with assessing care packages including supporting to carry out risk assessments.
2. To deal with emergency situations and support the Care Enablers when these situations occur.
3. To support the Management to maintain Resident files and ensure that all records are maintained to meet service standards regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
4. To assist with on-going training of new and existing Care and Support staff.
5. To carry out Care Enablers observations via Carer Assessments and Spot Checks alerting the Managers to any additional Staff training needs where required.
6. To liaise with multidisciplinary agencies as required.
7. To carry out personal, social, or domestic tasks as set out in a care plan, agreed with the resident, in accordance with safe working practices and food hygiene regulations. To ensure all tasks are completed in the times allocated.
8. To comply with current Health and Safety legislation and report any breaches of the Organisation’s Code of Practice, as set out in its instructions.
9. To undertake such other duties allocated by the Management.
10. To support the Management to carry out resident need-based assessments in order to achieve objectives set out in an resident’s support plan.
11. To maintain a good awareness of the function of key agencies such as Social Services, Community Mental Health Teams, and Health Authorities and liaise with these Agencies to ensure that Service Users receive the appropriate assistance from all Statutory Agencies involved.
12. To maintain full knowledge of the Homes Fire Awareness policies and procedures.
13. To monitor operational care standards.
14. To maintain full knowledge of the Medication Policies and Procedures, and to administer and manage medication.
15. To support the Management to maintain a record of all relevant details of all residents via the PCS System, the incident book and any other records as required.
16. To report any changing needs or concerns of a Service User to the Managers as soon as possible.
17. To maintain a caring and professional approach to ensure the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of the Service User.
18. To attend all mandatory training and undertake additional training as required by the Managers.
19. To attend Team Leader meetings as set by the Manager.
20. To assist in the office with general administrative duties when required.
21. To undertake other such duties as may be required by the Management.

Essential:
Good standard of Education.
Experience of working with the elderly or disabled people.
Experience of working on your own without supervision.
Accurate record keeping.
Supervision of Staff.
Ability to communicate effectively and sympathetically.
Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
Ability to manage a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner.

Must comply with Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Care Quality Commission Essential Standards of quality and Safety.
Satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
NVQ level 2 or QCF 3 in Health & Social Care.
Experience of working in a Residential Care Home.
Experience of dealing with challenging Residents.
IT skills (MS Word & Outlook).
Flexibility to cover as and when needed.
Car owner and driver (with current driving licence, and Business Car Insurance)
