What you will do


  • Collaborate and Plan: Work closely with the Operations Director and Care Supervisor to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), create daily plans, and update the rota as required.
  • Manage Operations: Oversee the day-to-day management of the business, ensuring efficient and profitable operations while upholding the highest standards of domiciliary care.
  • CQC Compliance: Hold the CQC registration for the business, ensuring adherence to CQC guidelines and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, produce regular reports, and investigate complaints from service users, advocates, external agencies, and employees.
  • Digital Platform Oversight: Manage and monitor the ‘Digital Platform’ daily, addressing non-conformances through supervision meetings and arranging further training when necessary. If issues are repetitive, initiate Disciplinary Action where appropriate.
  • Recruitment & Staff Development: Oversee the recruitment process, actively recruiting new care staff, guiding them through safe recruitment, induction training, and shadowing.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support the commercial growth of the service, building strong relationships with local authorities and independently funded clients.
  • Compliance & Legislation: Stay informed on operational issues and ensure compliance with health and safety, emergency regulations, legislation, and operational policies.
  • Policy & Practice Development: Research and implement evidence-based practices into company policies and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance & Audits: Regularly review business operations through audits and reviews, ensuring all client needs are met and policies are communicated and effectively implemented with staff.
  • Promote High Standards: Mentor and monitor staff performance through spot checks, supervisions, training (induction & refresher), staff meetings, regular communication, and appraisals to maintain a robust quality service.
  • Hands-on Care & On-Call Support: Provide hands-on care during staff sickness, absence, or annual leave. Undertake the on-call rota (1 week in 3) and attend relevant networking and local authority events (e.g., Safeguarding Champion meetings, Infection Prevention & Control meetings).
  • Client Assessments & Support Plans: Conduct Initial Assessments, compile Support Plans, perform Risk Assessments, and lead Client Reviews.
  • Complaint Management: Address and investigate complaints, following the Complaints Procedure, and ensure thorough documentation and reporting.
  • Safeguarding: Respond to Safeguarding issues, documenting actions appropriately and ensuring the protection of vulnerable individuals.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Attend Multidisciplinary Meetings (MDTs) and work effectively with employees, commissioners, key stakeholders, and the public.
  • Business Support: Perform any additional duties as requested to support the overall success of the business.


Key Requirements:


  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a managerial capacity within the domiciliary care sector is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage 1,000+ hours per week of care service effectively.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is required.
  • Accredited Training Qualification (training will be delivered in-house).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, delegate, and mentor staff to maintain high standards of care.
  • Strong organisational skills, including experience in producing staffing rotas and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including extended hours when necessary, and provide hands-on care during staff shortages.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to upholding the highest standards of care.
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are required.
  • Work-related car insurance either held or willing to be obtained.
