About Us

At Active Prospects, we’re dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of the people we care for as well as our carers. Our 330 staff work together with 250 people with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs, helping them to live independence and aspiring lives.

We are a community benefit society with charitable status with over 30 years of experience of providing residential, supported living and outreach support. As a charitable provider, we are dedicated to our people, not profit. With a turnover in excess of £10million a year and a strong portfolio of properties, largely owned but also rented in partnership with housing associations and private landlords, we have an infrastructure in place to provide opportunities for training, support and career progression to our staff.

Last year we were named as one of the top 30 charities to work for in the UK through the Best Companies survey, with outstanding levels of staff engagement. We were also finalists in the Care Employer of the Great British Care Awards.

We are mainly based in the east and mid-Surrey area, covering Horley, Redhill, Reigate, Caterham, Banstead, Leatherhead and Epsom as well as surrounding areas including Croydon. We are commissioned primarily by Surrey County Council , West Sussex County Council and health trusts as well as people paying directly for services.

Our values, and our expectations of staff, underline our strong commitment to equality of opportunity and to valuing the diversity of our organisation. They underpin the way in which we work together to enable people we support to achieve aspiring lives.

A career in the care sector is renowned for being one of the most rewarding jobs. What makes care work different from other career paths is the level of fulfilment and job satisfaction that many carers experience. You can help someone in need and make their lives that little bit easier every day. And knowing that you make a difference to their day provides a real sense of achievement that’s difficult to experience in many other roles.

We are looking for people from all walks of life and you don't necessarily need care experience - the main thing is that you have the kind of qualities that make someone a good carer like kindness, empathy, patience and being a good listener.
